To obtain Chartered status means to hold the top-tier of academic qualification within the financial advice profession, a feat not easily achieved. It takes many years of study and practical experience to obtain this. It is also a joint public commitment with the Chartered Insurance Institute to deliver the highest standards of professionalism.

With this Chartered status comes a deep and wide knowledge of all issues and solutions.

To secure and uphold Chartered status, a Chartered Financial Planner must demonstrate the following:

  • The highest levels of technical knowledge through professional qualifications
  • A commitment to the ongoing development of skills and knowledge
  • Uphold values that align with the the CII’s professional code of ethics.
